TechStone has been working in the oilfield service industry since our inception in 2004. Our first customer was BJ Services who needed help with their invoice and purchase order systems and processes. At that time, downstream energy companies like Exxon Mobile and Chevron Texaco were mandating that the upstream oilfield companies like BJ update their systems to be XML based. If they didn’t, they threatened penalties or even ceasing business altogether. Companies like BJ as well as Halliburton, Schlumberger and others purchased middleware software like webMethods, Tibco and SeeBeyond (which no longer exists). The decisions to implement these solutions however didn’t come from IT but rather the Finance Departments of these oilfield companies. TechStone worked with the Credit and Collections management in helping BJ as well as other upstream companies that were under the same mandate in not only implementing these internal workflow and integration solutions but also designing and implementing supplier onboarding solutions and processes.
